Black Tie Ball - 2007 The Dorchester
20/10/2007
Saturday 20 October marked the benefit dinner and dance of the Simone Cowland Trust, in aid of London’s Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Trust.
The prestigious Dorchester Hotel was the chosen venue to hold the Simone Cowland Trust benefit and it lived up to expectation. 360 guests were treated to a champagne reception and fine dining. The evening was hosted by Cystic Fibrosis sufferers and avid Cystic Fibrosis campaigners Emily Thackray and Emma Harris.
The four poofs and a piano from the Jonathan Ross show were the chosen house band for the evening and completely stole the show! Their fabulous collection of melodies, infectious comedy and wonderful delivery ensured the evening started on the right note!
Tenors Incognito brought everyone to their feet with their fantastic operatic ensemble and a special live performance from platinum selling artist Andy Abraham raised the roof!
The evening consisted of a stunning auction, with special guest auctioneer Lord Jeffrey Archer on hand to help raise funds for the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Trust, Foulis Ward. A number of high quality items were up for grabs including a weekend stay at the 5 star Chateau De La Messardiere in St. Tropez, Valentines Day 2008, 5 Star stay in Paris for 6 people flying by private Jet, four tickets to see Ricky Hatton Vs Floyd Mayweather World Title Fight in Las Vegas, a limited edition halter neck dress by Matthew Williamson, a bespoke pair of Jimmy Choo shoes, a chance to fly a MIG-29 Jet Fighter over Moscow Russia and a match worn Cesc Fabregas shirt signed by the entire Arsenal FC team caused a credit card frenzy!
The star prize on the evening was a brand new VW Eos Cabriolet, which one lucky guest walked away with on the evening.
It was a truly memorable evening which helped to raise much needed funds and awareness of Cystic Fibrosis and the Simone Cowland Trust. In total, the evening raised in excess of £100,000 for the Trust.
